He was a good second to Salerosa off a 1 lb higher mark in a handicap on his run previous to that and some of his more recent efforts can be forgiven as he has been competiting at a higher, unrealistic grade.

BEL CANTOR ran a monster of a race from out of the handicap here two runs ago and bumped into an inform hat-trick seeking rival in Harlech Castle on his last run. However, most of this field today look handicapped to their limits and with an extra furlong to contend with, Bill Ratcliffe's horse is taken to score.
